jinma254 Burned Pump Failed?

Little Help?

Ok So, Jinma 254LE main tractor pump/gear type. So I started her up on boxing day and let the tractor warm up. However I put her on high idle fairly soon (cold oil). When I came to move the tractor 1/2 hour later there were no hydraulics nothing. The pump was hot to the touch, starved for oil? So I took it apart it all looks ok?

Starvation is quite possible on a cold morning if there's water in the sump. The suction screen extends nearly to the bottom of the sump, right where any water ends up after separation occurs. That water can freeze overnight, blocking - or at least restricting - flow through the suction screen.

Next time it's below freezing in the morning, remove the suction screen. See if you pull any ice out with it.

any opinions on the current condition of the pump. Good/Bad? Picture 13 is the intake side of the pump.

These pumps rely on very close tolerances to function properly (develop full pressure). It looks like you have some wear from the gears/impellers against the casing. I would replace it. Of course if you want to try it, you will only be out the cost of a seal kit and your time.

It looks like some wear to me too in the housing, rub your finger in the housing see if you can feel a ridge or wear.If so you need to replace the pump. Now the main question, what caused it.I would hate to see you put a new pump and be right back where you started.Has the hydraulic system been flushed,? what weight hydraulic oil are you using ?,is your filter clean ?

We keep the pumps in stock as well as a rebuild kit if there is no wear in the housing.Let us know if we can help
