Hi guys,

Maybe you can help, if you look at your hand control valve from the right side of the tractor there are four line exiting out the bottom then to the emediate left of that there is a set bolt with a lock nut on it. What does this little feller do. And what is its home position. Because I took mine out during some trouble shooting, and am not sure if its in the correct place.

Thanks,

This is the PRV-or Pressure Relief Valve.

It sets the upper pressure limit for the valve, anywhere between 2000psi and 2500psi usually. It can only be set properly with a hydraulic gauge that can read up to 3000psi. You basically attach the gauge to on of the work ports on the valve-then operate the valve to see how high the pressure is.

Using the machine without knowing how it's set can have disastrous consequences to your tractor's hydraulic pump, or the cylinders on the FEL, or the mechanics of the machine if a load if lifted thats well outside of the rated capacity.

There is NO proper way to set this without a gauge and knowing what the specific PSI is supposed to be set at.
