I'm looking at one in ebay. Are they belt driven.

Yes. Six belts for the disk, one belt for the feed roller.

The originial Jinma chippers that I sell have 5 drive belts and one for the feed drum gear box.

Thanks for the replies. I was looking at one on Ebay but was busy and missed the closing. 6" Jinma sold for $1100. I wanted to wait till last 5 and see if I could get for less than 1200. I could have driven and picked it up..
Oh well there'll be more chippers on Ebay I'm sure.

But now I know they all have belts to deal with.

My two cents worth. Once I put a straight edge across the pulleys and slid the pulleys to where they lined up perfectly, I have not had any issues with the main drive belts. The single belt has slipped some when the feed gets jammed ,but that is to be expected.

Kays Supply is correct ......... Proper setup and service is key with the Jinma chippers prior to use.

Bought one last week from ebay. The manual leaves "MUCH" to the imagination but from the threads I've seen here I think I can figure out all the little things to do before I try out the chipper.. I know to check all the bolts for tightness, alignment of the drive pulleys and grease the feed roller u-joints.
I'm gonna have to go back and read and find the post were someone gave a website about setting up the chipper.
As I get the think unpacked and hooked up I'll try and remember to take some pictures. Weathers breaking around here and I'm looking forward to spending some time outside.
