I know you're putting this together yourself, but even crate tractors are supposed to come with a parts warranty. Have you approached the seller about this problem yet?

I think you may have a couple of rings stuck. I would give the pull a CHEAP try.

Thanks,
Bruce

I bought it from a guy who bought out a dealer. So there is no warranty. I bought "as is" off Ebay.

I've got good compression. I'm not getting any fuel out of the #1 line from injection pump. I don't think any amount of pulling would start it, but I may try it anyway. I'm pretty sure the pump has some dirty Chinese fuel dried up in it because it was sitting in the crate for so long. I always wanted to take apart an injection pump. DelJen tells me that it is probably bad and it can only be used as a boat anchor. So, what have I got to lose? /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Prior to BUYING a PUMP I would pull the front timing cover and CHECK to make sure it has the KEYWAY installed and that the drive gear has not come off, they are held on by bolts & washers I belive, this happened to someone a while back on one that ran for about 2 hrs then dies showed same symptoms and the gear drive came appart, no real damage but they had to re-time everything. and reattach gear & keyways.

One thing I didn't buy as a spare was a injector pump: you can try and contact ZANG ZUNG who is in china, they can ship you the parts but shipping costs are very high... I belive UPS is not shipping to/from china, where as 2 yrs ago everything was FED EX only there are also a number of other china side importers who may help.

but I don't have any info HERE @ GF's house. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

You could go ahead and remove the fitting from the top of the pump where the line hooks up to, under that there are some small parts, plunger, spacer, etc. YOu could remove those and look for signs of a problem and clean. As you say you have nothing to lose.

I have a container leaving JInma next week. It is likely too late, but if you want to order a pump, I will try to get it added. we would have to move quickly. you could PM me or conatact me sales"at"artrac.com

Haven't removed the front cover yet. I assumed since I was getting fuel from the 2nd line, the gear was intact. Could be loose I guess.

Bluechip, I did remove the spring and plunger. Looks clean but I can't see down in the hole very well. If I just loosen the fitting and pump the primer, I get all kinds of fuel through it.

I am going to remove the pump and start looking internally for gunk. There has to be something causing the pump to not build pressure. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Have you got it going yet? Sounds like you and SevenCorners have some problem in common.

Nah. Haven't had time. Little tractor has been just sitting in the garage. I am following the thread on the other tractor that won't start, though. Does sound like my problem, only he has 10 hours and I only have 30 seconds on mine. I couldn't get it out anyway with all the other junk setting in front of the door. Anybody wanna buy some junk? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Actually, I was talking about the Saturn, Mitsubishi and Lincoln Navigator blocking the garage. The only vehicles running in my driveway are my Nissan pickup and 2 old chevy's.

I love my tractor and have not given up. Just been working a lot lately as well as traveling for my company. Compound that with the daughter's car, son's Navigator and wife's car, I have too little time for the little tractor.

My problem is, according to the wife, that I offer to fix everyone else's stuff before my own. Guess she is right. Mine is always the last to get fixed. Oh well... maybe I can get it fixed before winter.... /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Oh, by the way... mine is the ag variety. I would love to have turf tires for mine, too. Maybe when I get it running, I'll start searching for some. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

There are 3 Rural King stores in Kentucky John - just a few hours west of you - that sell a JM200 with standard turfs . There is an off chance some customer might want his/her JM200 with ag tires.

You might consider telling those RK store managers that you have a set that you'd trade for the turf take-offs, if the situation ever arises.

Greg, I'm embarrassed to say that I have not. I have changed all my fluids but haven't had time to do much else. I want to try pulling it before I change the pump. I have been following a lot of threads on here and don't want to remove it without ruling out completely that it doesn't have air in the lines/pump.

Oh, BTW... I did remove the front cover and checked the gear/bolts on the pump. I thought maybe I had the same problem as SevenCorners. But, alas, mine is working fine. That's why I think that either I still have air in the darn thing or my pump is gummed up.

Is this the model that has direct hydraulic steering with no mechanical linkage?

If you are thinking about pull-starting it, I wonder if you have any steering control before the engine turns the hydraulic pump.
