gear drive doesn't work, possible cause /solution?

maybe a shear pin broke or fell out.

Thanks bigtiller, it's my pops' machine, we put in basement so he can tear it apart, I will have him check for shear pin!

I don't know if the JE75 is the same as my JX75? If so, there are plastic gears behind the back wheels that go bad over time. I would check those. Also, check the cable adjustment. Good luck.
