JD955 TLB VS BX25

Hello all,
I have 3 acres of grass to cut with a moderate amount of trees, I currently have a JD 425 with 54" MMM that does the job just fine. This year I need to put new weepers around the house as well as some drainage and utility trenching with a max depth of around 5.5'.
I intend to sell the JD 425 and buy a TLB with a MMM.
I have been quoted $20,904 CAD + TAX for a BX25 with a 60" MMM.
I also have a line on a JD 955 TLB with a 60" MMM, turf tires and snowblower for around $17,900 CAD.
I have found out that the 955 is one helluva tractor but it is a 1992. The BH is a #7.
I would like to hear some opinions on which way you would go and why...

I'd keep my 425 and go with the 755. Sell the mower off the 755 to offset keeping the 425. However, unless the 755 is like brand new, that price sounds high to me. That's probably close to what it sold for new.

The BX25 is a little smaller framed that the 755, which means that it may not dig as effectively.

If you want a digger, have you considered Kioti? Much heavier for digging, and you can get into a new one for about the money you are talking. Of course, it would work best if you kept the 425.

I wouldn't get rid of my 425 unless replacing it with a 455 or x729/49. Just an awesome little mower.

I agree with Gittyup..........I would first work the seller on the cost for the 955 and then sell off the deck and maybe the snowblower to ease the cost. When we wanted a compact TLB for work around our place I was going to sell our JD 425 and buy a JD 2305 TLB. Problem was the 2305 was not near the grasss cutter the 425 was. So I bought a used JD 770 TLB and kept the 425. Happy wife happy life PS........we have plowed our driveway with a 54" front mounted blade on the 425 for the last eight years with out problems.....if snow removal is an issue in your area.

Unfortunately I only have room for one tractor.
Remember I am talking Canuck bucks here eh! Not the mighty USD.
My dad bought a JD955 with a FEL and 72" MMM and turf tires brand new in 96 for $33,000 CAD so $17,000 with all the attachments doesn't sound too bad to me but what the **** do I know!
Alas I am still undecided... \

How bad is your 755 or 770 at mowing, whats the gripe? Is it because its a bigger machine or less turning radius or both or what??
