Backhoe JD855 - What Backhoe other than #7?

I have a Deere 855, would like to get a backhoe for it. Are there any alternatives to the Deere Mdl 7 that can be used on it with no alterations?

Maybe a 3 point hitch backhoe But not recommend by the manufacture, They break the top link mount . Other than that a #7 JD backhoe, sorry I think that's it unless you want to put something together .

That's what I'm finding out - apparently there are no aftermarket hang-ons available. I've done some casual looking for a used Model 7 but they're scarce. Thanks

I had one on my JD 770 nice little backhoe , If you find it make sure you get the sub frame with it. Most times its on the tractor and gets sold and the backhoe won't work with out it

That's a sturdy looking little hoe. Did you run it off the power beyond? How does the tractor carry it?

Yes I ran off the power beyond, it was within 100 pounds of the #7 John Deere hoe

I do have stickers and green paint so it will be a green number 7 hoe eventually

To the original poster, there is a No. 7 for sale near me now. I can see that I am nowhere near you, but at least this may provide a little hope to you that they are out there and do come up for sale now and then.

The key to remember if attempting to retrofit any hoe to the x55 series is the necessity of a sub-frame. The x55 rear case/3pt simply isn't stout enough withstand the forces generated from using a hoe. The sub-frame distributes the load throughout the rest of the tractor's frame.
