JD4700 vs. JD 4710

I was planning to purchase a JD 4700 this Spring until I heard JD is coming out with a JD4710. Big difference I heard is the added electronic HST. Can anyone comment on this? What are advantages vs. disadvantages? Any other features with the 4710 that 4700 doesn't have? Thanks.

Take a look at www.midlawns.com. They have all the info. on the new 4x10 series from JD. Personally I'd wait and get the new one unless you can get one heck of a deal on the 4700, like 30-40% off list. If not go for the 4710.

Pro's would be very light HST peddle pressure, all your moving is a variable resister with a spring, Also it can be set so the full travel of the peddle changes the tractor speed only a very small amount for uses like rototilling, spraying ect. also can be set to maintain ground speed all by flipping switchs, The cons might be expensive to repair and you would probably need to take it to the dealer for most problems related to the Hydro due to the need to hook up to a scan tool to test the system, Mine is due here in the spring
