I have a JD210LE and would like to add "The Thumb" to my bucket. (The Thumb)

I have an "extra" control slot/handle on my hydraulic assessories that is not used and it appears I could add another valve. I'm assuming I could run the hoses back to that box and be able to hook things up and have an operating handle for the thumb.

Anyone with help and/or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Your idea sounds as if it will work but my knowledge of JD industrial machines is very limited.

Maybe if you would start with some pictures of what "appears" to be a place to add another valve, and some more specifics as to what your tentative plan would be, then others can give some critique and add some suggestions.
I think with the OP, it is a bit hard to tell just what you have in mind to do, other than a general idea. Just a thought..

Can you decipher any additional info about your loader valves from the schematics in jdparts.com ??

The loader valves are shown as "basic functions" being four valves, and a fifth function valve with reference to an auxiliary valve. Might give some clue to answers you seek.

Beenthere,

DUH! I guess asking questions without pictures was unfair. I'll be going out to the property and will get some pictures. Of course I should have anticipated the obvious. Thanks my friend.

Pictures of my machine will be the most helpful for my question.

Found a couple of pictures that might help until I get new pictures of my rig.

Note there are 5 vertical handles to control the rear attachments/hydraulics. On mine, there are only 4 with one extra space which appears I could add something to.

This is where I'd like to add the hydraulics for The Thumb.

Okay, here are 3 pictures of where I hope to add/connect the hydraulic controls for "The Thumb" on my tractor.

Do you plan to get the 5th valve to add to that stack of 4?

Yes. That seems to be the most likely spot and the most easy installation. I'm assuming the valves are readily available from JD. I'm guessing that the hydraulic lines would be available or can be made.
