Hey Tags, how ya going. Always good to hear from you. I understand you had your 110 on the market. Did you sell, if so, what did you end up with. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

4710 and 110tlb.

It sure does look like a stout machine. I have heard nothing but good about them.

I have no ideas where they differ in metal. Not enough to notice form my checking.

Dave has lots to look into and so much of it can be subjective. In engineering, objective and concrete numbers are often the deciding factor.

I was facing this sort of choice last year. Either way, I would have been a winner with either machine. The main thing was the seat. I like the rotating type. I do wish it had the travel lever of the JD110 so you could move the machine easily while sitting at the BH. Advantage JD on this item.

Gray, the weight issues are something you take with a grain of salt. You never know. Kubota seems to weigh the tractors in the crate meaning no tires, no loader, etc. The other's may do the same or not. I think the issue is moot. The L48 seems to dwarf my L3830 in weight. Contrary to Tags, I found the pedal wonderful to use on the L48, what do you think? The 110's creep positioning feature is definitely a bonus. Of course, you could do much the same with a simple stick on the L48 I suppose.

Rat.

If the L48 is wieghted without tires and so forth, my trailer is over the edge for hauling? This one may be a full wieght as they ( Kubota ) says it can be hauled on a 10000#gvw trailer?
I have a 10K trailer and it wieghs about 2400# so I am over by a few pounds. Add in the 4in1 extra pounds and I am going to scale it soon. I got my trailer for the L35 I had and hoped it would be OK now. Close call. I have hauled it about 300mi without trouble. I will watch it close every time.

I have looked at the lever thing. There is a safe and easy way to add such a thing to the L48. I will do it when the warranty is off. I am also the guy who is toying with making the seat lift and shift about 6 inches to allow for a while still seated rotation. Sounds goofy? It may be if I can not get it to work. If I can, the machine will be nearly like a full sized sit and spin TLB seating set up.

I am a frustrated engineer? We all have our weaknesses.

All the weights I have seen for any Kubota tractor are always with the standard tires. (AG's on the L's). They even break it down depending on if you have self leveling or not. If you want to know a specific configeration PM and I will check my books.

RaT,
Good to see you're still mowin' along /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif. Yes, I did have the 110 up for sale in the classifieds on this very site, and I did end up selling it, to a guy in New Mexico, he drove all the way out here to Connecticut to pick it up. I was a bit sad to see it go, but my business needs changed a bit and I needed something that could move material more efficiently and something that could handle slopes better. I do alot of site work and where they are putting houses now tend to create slopes that need to be graded and lawns installed and the 110 was just to tippy on a slight side hill with the harley rake on it. I ended up purchasing a Cat 287 Multi Terrain Loader (MTL), it is basically a skid steer with a dedicated rubber track under carriage (the same under carriage found on the ASV machines), yet runs circles around a regular skid steer and goes twice as many places, wet or not, plus the under carriage has torsion suspension, so at the end of the day your guts don't feel like they've been through the ringer.

I do wish I could have kept the 110 as well because it really is a great machine and I do miss it at times but until "they" come out with a perfect "do all" machine, the compact TLB's are as close as it's gonna get.
