JD X749 Dying after 30-45 minutes

Air flow wouldn't make it shut off like a switch. I would think you would see lots of black smoke as the fuel mixture gets richer with diesel cough and then stall. It sounds like something is getting sucked dry and it's taking time to fill back up. The longer you wait the more it fills back up. Or something is heating up and shutting off and as it cools back down the cooler it gets (more time) the longer it takes to heat back up and shut off.

the fuel cutoff solenoid is the only electrical device that could stop the fuel, that was replaced, and the voltage monitored and the solenoid gets constant power, so it's not an electrical problem..
Again as usual bad advice.SIGH..

Two year old thread on GTT discusses what appears to be the same issue, shutting down after a period of time. Mentions a temperature cutoff switch, but there is no resolution to the thread.

Have not read the entire 13 page thread but has the OP had the JD dealer diagnose his JD tractor?

Unless they changed the design of the shutoff solenoid mount in the pump you should be able to remove the shut off solenoid and run the tractor. You won’t have any safety shut off function nor will the key shut it off. To kill the engine you would have to use a small screw driver to push in the mechanical plunger inside the injection pump. (I suggest familiarizing yourself with this before starting the tractor)
That would completely rule out any electrical issue with shutdown. All safety and engine protection included. If it still shuts down it’a a mechanical problem. Problem in injection pump, or a restriction in the fuel lines. Likely not air restrictions because it would smoke profusely before it died.
The mention of keeping it from shutting down by lowering the throttle or cutting off the pto indicates a fueling issue. Doing both those reduces the engine load and fueling requirements.

You keep arguing against electronics or anything else other than fuel, but this implies differently. If that PTO switch or some other switch, safety or electrical component, wire or connector heats up with time and closes, or opens, it could cause these symptoms.

I'm also wondering about airflow that slowly gets restricted over time.

What I don't understand is how consistent the timing seems to be. Did somebody install a cutoff timer when you weren't looking forcing you to take breaks?

Actually, if you go back and read from the beginning that is exactly what I thought it would be. Per everybody here there is nothing that turns the motor off, so if you are aware of something other than the ones you mentioned I open for investigation.
Airflow is also fine.

Sorry if you answered this but I can't remember. Does it have a clear fuel filter? If so is it empty when it dies? If not installing one before the fuel pump would confirm that the pump has fuel when it dies.

The only two things that come to mind that were similar to what your experiencing were on my Case backhoe it has an in-line filter along with a canister style filter. The in-line filter is just a metal one that's spliced into the fuel line. It's two halves that has a crimp to hold them together. It's before the fuel pump. The crimp was very lightly rubbing on something and wore a very small hole in it. It was too small for diesel to leak out but it would suck air in. When running it was fine but if I shut it off it would turn over for ever. Without a diesel leak it was very hard to find.

The other issue that comes to mind is a coworker had a similar problem. He had gotten some hay in his fuel tank and it would run fine and then shut off but I thought he said it was after a random amount of time. He had to pull the tank and clean it out.

Been through that one as well... clear filter housing full to the brim every time.
Nothing found int the tank as well.

And yet he talks about the PTO switch apparently having some effect.

No effect other than me trying to lessen the load trying to keep the engine from stalling when it's dying.
