JD X585 4WD

I was wondering what my JD X585 is worth. It is 4WD and has a 62" deck. 140 hours on it. I do not need the tractor anymore, it is a great tractor though. I do really like it. It is just not meeting my needs anymore. I have replaced 1 spindle on the deck and all 3 blades as well. I figured you guys might be able to tell me what it is worth if it is not too much trouble. I don't want to ruffle any feathers.

My local dealer was selling a 595 with 1000 hours for $7995. I thought he was insane. Search machinefinder.com and you'll get a real world appraisal.

WOW, I really didn't expect that. I was figuring the 4 to 5 thousand range. I am sure going to investigate this more. Thanks for the input folks!

The prices on the new ones are going up super fast, so that makes your older one worth more right there. Its a great machine too btw!

Well, I sure would like to get top dollar for it. It is an amazing machine. It just does not meet my needs anymore. I am really impressed with it for sure. Having a 4WD lawn mower, (garden tractor), is really cool though. I have not seen any on craigslist. Not ones like mine anyway. I may try to put it up on there and see what happens. It is the wrong time of year to be selling one though. I will see what happens.

good luck selling yours, I am buying a 585 with 62 that
we took in on trade, and trying to sell my 445, but I am
suprirsed at how little activity I am getting from
Craig's list. I think I'm going to have to get it outside for sale at
a good location before too much longer and get it some exposure
that way.

Too bad you are not in snow country, as the 4wd will shine there more than in the south. And this is a good time of year to get one on the market.

But like the 445, the 585 is a gas guzzler. Handy to have the fuel injection engine, but noticeably thirsty of fuel.

What are you asking for your 445, if I may? And which deck size?

I have the 54" deck..


since I still have 2 tractors, we are using them both, last weekend
we mowed the house lot with the 445, and she used the 585 with
62c next door. I will say that the 585 uses much more fuel than the 445
did, I can't complain about the 445 really.
there is a difference in performance though, with the 585 really picking
up more debris/dust than the 445, the blades are really moving
a lot faster, and i'm sure it takes power to do that too...

Snow country huh...well I am not opposed at all to a little traveling. LOL Especially at the prices you guys are boasting. I just noticed that there is a classified section. I am going to post it on there and see what happens. You are right it does drink the fuel. But I never did mind that because of the power. I am truly impressed with that little tractor. I need to wash it and wax it. It doesn't look bad at all.
