JD vs K?

I have a Mitsubishi 2650 with front end loader that I want to replace with either a John Deer or Kubota. I'm kinda leaning towards the Kubota, does anyone have any insight or recommendations? Wanting something in the 35 hp range with loader, just a few years old.

JD has a good operating FEL in its 2 series, but it has problems with its Ujoints between the engine and the HST (they're hard to impossible to grease but blow apart at around 160 or so hours if not greased) and also have cheap PTO switches. The forward/reverse peddles are easy to get used to vs. maybe the treadle on the Ks. Don't know of any K issues. Friend of mine has a 2004 BX with lots of hours on it. Some leaks at the hydraulic couplings that he's having replaced.

I'm considering switching to Ks after my 3rd JD: two 2 series and one a very lemony 1025R in between.

Both manufactures make good tractors, if you see a used model you like post what you found with the hours, model, price etc and I'm sure we can help..

While we all sympathize with Ralph, many of us with 2 series tractors don't have the same difficulty in greasing the driveshaft. However, since you are looking at 35 HP you will want to look at the 3 series instead of the 2 series, which I believe has a different drive system.

In any event, both JD and Kubota have excellent tractors in this range and you should look at both and see which fits your needs best.

I like the Kubota better. More metal, not an aluminum axel and a better loader valve.
