JD JS 60 H

I bought a Deere JS 60 H walk behind for its advertised ability to mow tall and/or wet grass. When I first got it it worked great. As of late when I put a load on it, it starts blowing oil into the air filter and now into the cylinder. I hit a hidden stump with it a while back and it starting vibrating. I put on a new blade and it seemed to take care of the problem.

Wonder if the stump hit has anything to do with the oil problem? (I have not overfilled the crankcase).

I guess there are a couple problems possible..
if you hit a stump, and had to change the blade, I would think the crankshaft may be bent also.. but that shouldn't affect how it runs other than vibration or taking out the lower seal.
Another possibility, is you may have broke the keyway in the flywheel, and it threw the timing off a little bit... not enough where it won't run though... that's easy to check, pull the top of the motor off, and pull the flywheel. A puller is best, but there are other ways to pop them off.

Un, If you have been mowing a lot of high and wet grass(if it gets all over your machine)You might have a clogged crankcase vent(hard to find)or breather tube, Which can also cause the oil to be sucked out into the airfilter. I would check this before pulling the flywheel .... /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
