JD GT245 Road Speed ?

What else can I check to increase the road speed of my GT245? The belts are good and not sliping, the forward pedal moves all the way to the stopper.
Can the trans oil be old?

Rated speed on that little feller is about 7 mph. Any "road" time should be on a trailer.

Thanks, I read that the speed is 7 mph. My problem is its only moving about 3 mph. Its taking me twice as long to mow the lawn as it did 2 years ago.

When was the last tranny oil/filter change?

What filter? The oil was soposed to be changed on my last dealer sevice. I know if it wasnt. I requested an ABC service and was very disapponted. This is why I'm here asking ?

What does the manual say about transmission oil and filter change? Parts shows a couple filters in the tranny, but don't see how easy they are to change out when changing oil.

Has it been slowing down steadily, or some abrupt slow-down?

You have a Tuff Torq transaxle probably a K71. The oil and possibly the filter in the transaxle can be changed. Tuff Torqs website is TRANSMISSIONS|LAWN GARDEN|MARINE|OFF_HIGHWAY|INDUSTRIAL HYDRAULICS

How do I Identify the transaxle? Is there a serial number or make stamped somewhere?

Sometimes the throttle cable can slip or stretch or something and need to be adjusted.
