jd 855 loose front final hubs

Thanks for the heads up. I have also been fretting over what sounds almost like knocking in the engine. I never had a diesel anything before. I found a couple youtube vids and I don't think I have anything to worry about. One guy called it the " Yamer Hammer" I am going to go over the valve lash tough since I doubt it has ever been done. Then I think just do the maintenance and run it!

I think that you just saved me $400 thanks
I was really going to look into replacing the aluminum hub housings (as per local jd dealer recommended ) but if you have replaced them on your 955 and little to no difference in the play I think it is safe to say it is just bad design flaw from jd I replace almost every bearing and seal in my final drives
They still had slope in them when I was finished
I think I am just going to keep an eye on them and make sure they don't get
