If I don't start this tractor for a couple of weeks It won't start and it is hard to get it to prime it only has 4000hrs and has plenty of power and no smoke once it is going and has no problem starting unless it is not used for a four or five days

Sounds as if you need to install a fuel line check valve to stop fuel from bleeding back to tank from filter.

I have installed a small sprung loaded check which was new but it could be faulty, this did help but was just wondering why it would be bleeding back design fault?
