JD 650 starting

I figure I'd toss this out for an easy way to fix this problem for a customer. There is a wire (Rectifier) by the JD parts list that grounds out and goes through to the starter. part number CH20161 this part has been discontinued since 1988 and is currently unavailable thru the dealer. Is there a good way to replace it? Is it available through Yanmar or just JD?

To my knowledge, this is not a rectifier. It is only an adapter that allows hook up to a starter that has a stud for solenoid activation. You should be able to splice in a piece of wire with an eyelet on the end to connect to the starter. Good Luck!

This unit is under the dash panel and has a multi wire connector on one end and the ground coming out on the other. It would be on the left bottom of the console.
