I am looking to buy a JD 5525. It is a 2006 model with 400 hrs. It comes with front end loader, 8ft shredder, and hay spear. 45 k seems to be a good price the tractor is in excellent condition. Any comments, suggestions on price and model of tractor?

It sure hasn't depreciated much then. It was probably not much more than that when new in 2006. It better have a deluxe cab with air seat, 4x4, power reverser, 24 spd trans hi/lo and 3 remotes!

Some of the options available were pretty costly when new, so there could be quite a price differential between, say a 2wd 5525 with 9x3 trans, no cab, no extra remotes or mid scvs compared to a fully optioned one. Heck of a nice tractor though. Good luck with your tractor hunting!

You should be able to get the VIN for the tractor and contact a local JD dealer and have them run the number to generate a build code sheet. Would give you a good idea of what you are going to look at.
