Hi, just purchased a John Deere 5520 power reverser. Changed the oil and filter. I put in the 2.2 gallons of oil the specs called for but it’s not even hitting the tip of the dipstick. The 2.2 gallons is supposed to include the filter change. Any suggestions?

Since you say the oil is not even hitting the bottom of the dipstick, my bet is the oil is so clean you cannot easily see the level on the dipstick. Clean oil is hard to see on a dipstick.
Take a clean paper towel and lay the dipstick on it. If the oil is clean enough it is hard to see on the dipstick, the dampness from the oil on the paper towel will show you the level of oil.
I have always believe that 1. Go by the dipstick to find the correct amount of oil. 2. Whatever you do, do not overfill the oil.
