Just replaced an exciter in a JD 525. Starts fine but dies when I release the brake. Before I start to take things apart, what other than a bad brake switch could cause this? I wonder what I could have done to it while I worked on it. I replaced an exciter that was only 4-5 hours old. Could there be a relationship between the two problems? Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks, Lloyd

Welcome to the forum.
Is the mower switch in the 'on' position, or is a wire off that the safety system thinks the PTO is engaged?

I checked the pto and that wasn't on-I'm not sure about loose wires. I'll check that and the seat wires in the morning. Thanks for your help. Lloyd
