JD 500B Industrial backhoe loader Hydro Pump question.

TxJim. JD parts shows a mid mount hydraulic pump that is not the trans pump. I think you two are talking about two different pumps

The gears in Z5's diagram appear to be drive gears not a pump plus photo heading is as follows "mid-mounted hydraulic pump drive". Isn't mid-mount pump the standard 8 piston pump similar to photo below?

You are correct. I posted the mount for the mid mount pump. Had I posted the pump, which looks the same as a front pump, I did not think you would see there was an external mid mount pump.

Sorry it took so long, so if you are still following the thread I am attaching a picture of the pump location and the image from the service manual. Granted neither pic is very good....
