I read these threads all the time, but I don`t see much about the 4500. Does this mean that they don`t have many problems?? I have a 4500, haven`t had too much problem except sometimes in the cold it won`t start.

I have a 1999 4500 which has been virtually bullet-proof. The only two issues I have had is battery replacement which I solved 5 years ago with a Delco Freedom Battery. The second is a sensitive safety switch which requires moving the reversing lever slightly when starting.

It has been a great tractor.

I have a 2000 4500 and I've had no issues with it, other than battery corrosion, you'd think deere would put better batteries on their tractors. 650hrs and counting...

Thanks for the responces. I also had the battery thing but for the most part I haven`t had anything major go wrong. For the way I run it thats a miracle.
