JD 4300 Starting Problem

I am having trouble starting my 2000 JD 4300. I though it was the neutral safety switch but I replaced it and still no luck. I pulled the starter relay and can jump start it from the two side posts but I replaced the relay and still no luck. Although I could jump start from the starter, I would really rather have the safety features intact. Any suggestions?

Have you checked the fuse that protects the interlock circuit?

Have you verified that the PTO is in the full off position and that the indicator light on the dash is out?

Found the problem today. There is a safety switch which is contacted when the fwd pedal comes to rest. The linkage is not pushing on this switch hard enough to open it. I tried adjusting the linkage but still no luck. This switch is located even with the fwd pedal and about center of the tractor. It looks simple enough but you need a magic wand to get it out. I have bypassed it until I can check with the JD people.

I replaced this switch on my 4400 sometime back and it is a bear!! One not so obvious secrete is if you push down on the forward pedal and look from the outside you will find a hole that lines up with the screw heads holding the switch in place. I jammed something in somewhere (don't remember where anymore) that will hold the hole (pedal) in place.
Then all you need is a little bitty hand on a long arm or a lot of cussing.
