Tractor
John Deere 4300
Hello from Ohio,
I am thinking of buying a JD 4200 compact 4wd tractor with 430 loader and 48 backhoe with a wide bucket.
I am going to have to rent a uhaul car trailer to drag it a long way home.
Question:
Which end is the heavier end of this setup? Should i pull it on or back it on the trailer?
Could put the hoe bucket in the loader i suppose. Buying it as not running so might only have one shot
at putting it on the trailer.
Any thoughts appreciated.
Gary

The total weight will be around 4000 pounds. The back will be heaviest. It will require a 20 ft. Trailer to fit all on the deck.

Thanks
I figure if i keep the hoe boom up high and swung to one side
and curled all in that should cut down on the needed trailer length.
probly should chain it up in case of drift.
thanks

Which U-Haul trailer do you plan to rent? When I tried to find a U-Haul to move my JD 4300, recall that nothing of the right size was in the U-Haul stable.

I bought two 4200's and a 4400 and they fit nicely on a car hauler trailer uhaul.
well i worried about the inside width of their rails but they hauled nicely.
Long story there
anyway a car hauler should work.
will measure one to be sure
thanks gary

Transporting in the up position may cause frame breaks when bumps are hit. Swinging the boom to one side will not help.
