JD 420 engine trouble

I have a JD420 Garden type tractor/mower The engine is a onan 20 hp and just started tonight blow ALOT of oil out the vent in the top of the engine that goes into the air filter. I am assuming this is blow by from the crank case. My question is if there is a equal to this engine in the kohler engine if so what would the numbers be? and also blue smoke but not sure if it isnt just burning off the engine as it runs down the block,

I read on the internet at another forum that there is a vent type valve that could be causing the problem with the oil blowing up into the carburater,can anyone tell me what I am looking for? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
