What are the pros and cons of the 61" vs 73" bucket?

None, get the 73.

The 4120 is 6' wide with the wheels set to narrow. I would not want a bucket more narrow then the outside of the track.

The 73 has worked perfect for me on mine.

Stick with the 73" bucket for reason stated above, if you need to get into narrow space quite often a smaller tractor may be a better option.

Be aware the default bucket which JD puts on their FEL is not sturdy enough for heavy lifting, etc. If you want to use the FEL to do chores like pushing over tree stumps, you should go to the heavy duty/reinforced bucket. Because the regular bucket's lower lip will bend easily under stress. It is sufficient only for moving light duty load such as bark, sand, dirt, snow, etc. I learned the hard way, which is always fixable by opening up your check book....
