I have a JD 4100 and wanted advice on which diverter to buy so that I can install a grapple. Artillian has a kit but I can't see spending $700 on it when I think I can do it for less than half the price. I've done a search but it gets overwhelming trying to read all of the posts. Any suggestions and where can I get it from? Thanks in advance.

My 4310 has an unused 3rd SCV on the loader valve. Not sure if the 4100 does or not. Easy enough to look under at the loader valve and see if there is a third section with no connection. That said I figured it would be just as cheap and easy to rig up a diverter and save the SCV for another use in the future.

If a single momentary button that transfers the curl function for a grapple will do you might find the way I did it of some use.

By the time you buy the valve, figure out where and how to mount it on your tractor, figure out all of the measurements for the hoses, have the hoses made, buy the fittings, etc., etc., etc. you're going to be pretty close to the cost of the Artillian setup. The Artillian is turn-key and you're going to be up and running in less than 2 hours once it arrives.

BoltOnHooks.com sells the same valve as the Artillian - he just doesn't sell the hoses, fittings and the mounting bracket. The valve is top quality (I have the Artillian setup).

I bought one of these valves from ebay. aprox $130.
Hydraulic solenoid operated selector diverter valve 12 volt DC | eBay

This photo is similar to the one in the link above but has different ports and the price is out of date

I have it mounted on my snowblower to have an additional circuit.

In this picture the valve is connected. Rear blade and anti scalp wheels. Winter came too soon at it is hanging on the hoses until spring.

Dave, Maybe it's just me and my system but whenever you post a picture with your great advice on TBN, I can never pull it up. It just doesen't seem to activate. I will get no response at all; such as link unavailable or anything. That sure bums me out as I think you give excellent advice and I'd often like to see/follow up on lots of them.

I just thought you'd like to know and also find out if it is just me and my system or if others have the same dilemma.
Thanks, Greg

I had no trouble seeing his pictures.

FYI the ad photo he posted was for a valve with British Standard Pipe threads. The DSV-62-08-12 selector valve I listed in my link has regular O-ring Boss threads just like a John Deere cylinder would. I think it would be easier to get the adapters for.

JD855, Thanks for the feedback. I guess it must just be my system for some reason? I cannot pull up/activate his photos on any of his posts. It's sure got me puzzled. I can see everyone else's with no problem at all? It's a go figure thing I guess. I do everything the same - read a post that has a photo, click on the photo and up it comes, for everyone else's photos. On some of his posts he references/referees to a photo and on my screen it just isn't even there. I dunno what's up and it's troubling!
Thanks Greg

Edit...In past posts the pics didn't even show in the post; this post shows a "Ghost" outline of both pics, but even so will not come alive when clicked upon by me.

Greg.
You are the only one to tell me of not being able to see my images.

Whenever you cannot see an image I have posted, send me an email with TBN in the subject line.

Tell me which thread and I can send you the stuff in an email.

I suspect a web browser or other internet security program is blocking your access to an outside site when your on TBN.

Try going to IMGUR.COM and see if you can search for my stuff which is stored as DaveM7040 with no space.
