I have a JD 3300 diesel combine. It sat for a few weeks, went to start it the other day, no luck, seems like its not getting fuel. Instructions from former owner said to turn off fuel valve when not going to use it for an extended time. Of course I did not turn off the fuel valve and it sat.
I think the fuel may have backflowed to the tank.
What is the process to reprime the engine fuel pump?

Thanks

open bleeder on fuel filter and pump lift pump until air is expelled then close bleeder. Repeat procedure on inj pump. Start engine.

Do not try a snort of ether to start the engine. Those Dubuque diesels were prone to cracking pistons or breaking rings when ether knocking.
