JD 3020 cat 2 to cat 1 attachment?

Hi All,

I may pick up a used Wallenstein BX-42 chipper tomorrow. The Wallenstein site doesn't say if its cat 1 or cat 2 but I'm pretty sure its cat 1. My 3020 diesel takes cat 2.

I have a farmer friend who said you could buy the stuff to adapt a cat 2 tractor to run a cat 1 implement. Before I buy this chipper, can someone confirm I can get an adapter? If so, what all do I need (pto and pins?) and do you happen to have a rough idea of cost?

I had the same problem when I bought my current tractor. Picked up a few sets of the adaptors mentioned above and they work great and are cheap. You could also buy cat 2 pins for the chipper, if the ones on it are removable, if you never plan on using it with a cat 1 tractor.

Sounds like its much simpler than I anticipated. I thought perhaps there was a difference in the PTO shaft/coupler as well.

If its only a set of bushings it doesn't get much simpler than that!
