Had a little problem with my 3010 JD today. I was mowing hay and I broke a sickle section so I stopped the PTO to fix the section. When I got back on the tractor to start again the PTO started but when I got into some heavier hay the PTO stopped and I could hear a winding noise coming from the tractor. I have heard gears in the rear of the tractor behind the stub shaft wont mesh and it can be temporarily solved by putting a penny between the stub shaft and the shifter rod on the inside of the tractor? I would prefer not to split the tractor and anyone with any insight or experience to help fix my power shaft I would sure appreciate it. Thanks again for your help.
