In the middle of digging a pond when the input shaft seal on the hyd pump sprung a leak, or should I say a gusher. I have the pump out and it looks like a fairly simple fix. The pump had been rebuilt recently and it looks like the seal was damaged on installation. Any pointers or advice on replacing? Looks like getting it out will require some prying and digging.

I hope you can get that dumped oil out of the pond site - even a little will show up forever.
Can you go back to the pump rebuilder? Sounds like that's where the problem lies. If fed up, pry and dig. Do you have a parts blowup to see what you're up against?
