Having problem with tractor while in gear wants to stop. Also will not take off in 7 th and 8 th gear. Realize could be clutch, pressure plate etc. Question is anything we can ck before we split tractor?

Is that a wet clutch or dry ?

Have you checked clutch pedal free travel? I 2nd tne question does it have hyd hi-lo?

Won't take off? As in a dead start with the tractor in 7th or 8th gear ? Why not start in 5th and shift up?
What is stopping ? Stall the engine, engine just shuts off or the rear wheels lock up?
