Has anyone experienced an acceleration problem? I'll try and describe as best I can my problem. With the tractor in gear and the throttle set at 540 RPMS when the froward pedal is pressed it moves forward at a very slow speeds and the engine really bogs down as if it's going to stall.

540 is just idling, if the tractor is in high range it will bog down just like you describe. Give it a little throttle man!

Maybe I'm weird, but I love the way my 2520 sounds when the engine hunkers down when you step on it in low range in low RPMs. My 2305 never used to do that. The 2305 used to make a slight whining sound from the HST instead.

Growing up, my parents' 1948 Model M John Deere used to have the same effect when I let the clutch out in low RPMs. I guess this kinda sound takes me back to the old days *those crucial days in my youth when I fell in love with these big green machines*

*sigh*

The way you describe the problem is exactly whats happens when I have a senior moment and try to start out on a hill with my 2320's transmission in high range. If you are in low range, and the engine speed is around 2800 RPM's which is approximately equal for the 540 RPM PTO speed and your brake is off, I'd say its time for a trip to the dealer.

Did someone mention senior moment....and your brakes being off? If I had a dollar for everytime I drove off with the brake still set....I could possibly afford an upgrade from my 2520...

I know what ya mean. You would think JD would come up with a better system to warn us that we left the brake on or left the ROP's up and were backing into the garage with an opening 6" shorter than the height of the ROP's. Something like a mallet knocking me on the head would do.:p
