Hi everyone! I have a question on the JD 2520. If I were to purchase a 3 pt hitch generator does the 2520 have a governor that will maintain generator rpm's without having to constantly adjust the throttle lever due to changing loads on the generator? If it's a set it and leave it, I'm OK with that but if you have to watch it all the time I don't think that's a good thing.

I have a 10KW IMD with AVR and yes it does maintain RPM from 0 to 80% load and probably higher, but I have never seem it go above 80%. I do observe a slight deviation on the Hz it will sometimes move 1 bar (2 Hz). I think that kind of tolerance is very good and probably as good or better than most generators of this size. I have mine driving two 200 Amp panels via two outdoor transfer switches, now I just need a power failure to give it a good test.

WannaBeTractorMan,

I have a JD 2305, 18 pto and I frequently wonder why almost every flail mower is speced out of my PTO range. the 2305 is rated to run tillers and bushhogs and I just can't get teh feeling out of my head that a flail mower is a slightly reconfigured tiller. And on that thought, it will run a tiller through our horribly tight, hard as brick clay that we get in Southern Illinois. While I do not have one, my neighbors operate something similar and have no PTO problems at all. My Grandfather ran a self powered flail mower that operated by a 12 HP GAS engine! I also can't but help feeling that I am being gimmicked into purchasing more tractor than I need. It is easy for me to recommend a flail mower for yourself, its just a little more tricky to take the plunge myself.

Depends on how sensitive your equipment is. My K B3200 will run my gen as long as the load is relatively constant. Anything that is real sensitive to hertz fluctuations can be a bit annoying but on the most part no problem. Just remember that you are limited with the hp as to how much you can generate.
