I have a JD 2520 Compact Tractor with a snowblower attachment. I replaced the battery 1 week ago. My last storm I slowly lost power until most things stopped working. I removed the alternator and had it tested. It failed and had to be replaced. It was suggested to me to replace the voltage regulator at the same time. For the life of me, I cannot find where it is located on my tractor.

I'm totally unfamiliar with your tractor. I do know that sometimes the voltage regulator is internal to the alternator. When replacing brushes in some older Ford alternators I'll replace the regulator at the same time.
