jd 245 hot starting probs

my gt245-starts fine when cold, when i run it for awhile and then shut it down, it will not restart-let it sit about 15 min and then it will start but not easily, get a puff of blue smoke and, runs rough for a couple minutes and then levels out-------kawasaki 20 hp-any ideas on where to start looking--------thanks-jimbo------changed plugs, no help-was serviced in march and i replaced all filters-am running synthetic oil in crankcase and 93 octane fuel with stabilizer in it. Tractor Just started doing this.

Do you have spark at the plugs when "no start hot" problem occurs?

If no, then look at the spark side of the equation.
If yes, then look at the compression side...rings/valves

have spark,was thinking perhaps it's vapor locking, would this not be symptoms of a vapor lock- will check this out next time out to barn.
