They cut the beans yesterday so I was able to start planning my new garden/grass area. It will end up being about 1/4 of an acre new grass & garden. There is fertilizer coming for the entire field but I had to get out and try out the subsoiler. So I only made a few passes.
I am gonna run the subsoiler first to help break some of the compaction so it is not so hard on the tiller. Then plan out my future garden and plant grass around the rest of the area.
I think I am getting about a 8-10" penetration into the soil. In low gear 4wd PTO rpm and subsoiler all the way in the ground it would stall the tractor. If I lifted up about an inch I could put a nice load and have the power to stay moving.
