John Deere 2210
I have a John Deere 2210 tractor that I bought in 2005 with a 62C Mid-Mount Mower. I would like to use the mower again. I used the mower the first year for about 10 hours and then put it in my garage where it has been ever since. The question that I have is about the bell crank, the one I have on my tractor I think is bent. If anyone has a 2210 or 2305 tractor with an mmm would you please look at the pictures that I have taken and tell me if it is right.

I have a 2010 model 2305, at first sight - looks the same. I added a. = 2x2x1/4. Strap on mine before I put on the iMatch. Certain implements I had were not wide enough for the arm to catch and lift the deck. I'll look in the afternoon an post a pic if no one else has gotten back to you.

Looks to me like a situation where the mower deck ran out of travel before the lift arms did. Maybe you can recall the song by the Bobby Fuller 4: "I fought the Lawn and the Lawn won."

I think the arm on the bell crank is bent up. Tomorrow I will raise the three point arms up and look if it touches the bell crank and will take some pictures if I have the time. I would like to thank all of the posts above for their help.

Let me know if you need any more pics of my 2305 at a specific angle.

Thanks for the offer. Look at these two pictures for me and let me know what you think. The 2nd picture is with the 3 point arm all the way up and the arm is just barely touching the bell crankDSCN0143.JPGDSCN0144.JPG

My 2305 came with a travel bar. I took it off when I first bought the tractor and put on a TSC county line box blade. I jumped on the first time and was supposed that the deck wouldn't lift up. It took me a few mins to figure out the 3 point arms were not spread far enough for the arm to catch and make it lift. I now have the iMatch and have fabricated all my rear implements to fit it. With all that said, I noticed your turn buckles are screwed in and a bungee pulling the arms together. Could it be that it's as simple as spreading the arms to make it look normal and function ? Not intended to insult: just hard to help diagnose with words and pics. I'm a hands on .... Lastly- I think from the pics, every thing looks normal- surprised no expert has chimed in to help you. Let me know what you come up with. Bill

Seems the "expert" has just chimed in... and found the problem.. ;)

Or, have the bracket (bell crank) heated and bent to accommodate the lift arms where they are now pulled together.
(might have been bent out and just needs bending back)

I really don't think so, from what I could see in the pic, I just went to mine, took off the iMatch and screwed the turnbuckle in to match what I could see in your pic's. They looked the same. I'm guessing your left ( back facing forward ) arm just needs adjusted out and a bar or implement added to keep both arms spread apart. Expert ? Hmm need to show that one to the wife- she will say otherwise 😔

My thoughts are that the arms are not too wide that it misses the bell crank tab, I thought it was bent up. When you raise the 3 point arms all the way up it just barely touches the bell crank tab. Should the bell crank tab be a 90 degree angle or a 45 like I have? What is the purpose of the tab on the cell crank, I thought it was to move with the lift arms the way it is now it doesn’t touch the arms until the arms are all the way up. I hope this makes sense I’m not very good at explaining things.

I'll try to post a video closeup of mine in action when I get home tomorrow afternoon. May shed some light. I honestly don't remember the specific names of the parts. The part I believe you're calling Bell crank. Should be bent 90•. Like a piece of angle iron. But it may have been bent outward. Have you looked closely at the welds ? If it has, you should see stress cracks.
I think the rod it moves to lift the deck is called a rock shaft. It might be out of adjustment and caused damage. I've never been happy with the height my deck lifts but afraid to change any factory setting on it for just that reason. I'll check back tomorrow .....

Wouldn't let me attach video - sent more pics. Be happy to text it or email video if you want to give address out on here ? Might be an iPhone 6 issue why I can't post it.

Thanks for the pictures. My bell crank looks about the same as yours. I’m going to try to put my mid mount mower back on after it has been sitting for 10 years with only about 10 hours of use. The reason I only used it for about 10 hours was because I bought a finish mower to attach to my tractor. I will let you know how it goes together in a few days.

Sounds good, let me know how it works for you. One thing you might consider before you slide it under... Check the gearbox lube. Might need to add some after sitting that long. I would bet it lifts up and down fine if the 3 point arms are wide enough with an implement or a travel bar. You can check the arms underneath lift up correctly before sliding the mower under. Even a cheap board with tenons cut on each end and proper width would do the trick.

Finely got to work on the mower to day. The bell crank is bent and will not raise the mower all the way up. It will only go about half the way up so it is too low to mow with. I am going to order a new bell crank tomorrow. Hopefully it will not take to long for the part to come in and for me to change it. Should be easy to change. Will report back after it is installed.

Installed the new bell crank today. The old one would only raise the deck to 3” with the new one installed it went to 4 ½”. Had to turned the adjustment rod to make it go to 5 ½” which is the maximum height. Mowed the front yard and I believe it is fixed. If anyone needs to change theirs it is a very simple and easy job to do. After only using it for about 10 hours and then putting it in storage for about 10 years it is good to use it again.
