After sitting my 216 won't even turn over When I turn the key on, I just get a clicking in the selenoid. I can turn the engine over going direct to the starter with jumpers. I'm thinking the selenoid is bad. How does one test it?

Sounds more like time for a new battery.

Has a new Battery, Posts are clean, Cleaned the ground wire. Cleaned all positive connections to selenoid and starter.

Put Jumper Cables from the positive on your battery to the positive on the solenoid to rule out that wiring then touch the positive to the positive on the starter motor. When jump to the positive on the solenoid you will either have to turn the key while touching the posts or you can jump the 12 volts to the switched terminal as well.

Checked selenoid and it was bad put a new on on and she starts like a 47 Packard Thanks for the help.
