JD 2032R engine Idle speed

Wondering if anyone can tell me what the correct engine Idle speed is for the JD 2032R? The manual refers to an operating range of 1225rpm upwards but isn't specific about ideal speed - 1225?.

Mine is idling at around 1400rpm, this seems a bit high but wouldn't have worried me if I wasn't having a little trouble selecting High or Low Transmission, have checked the transmission oil and this is fine, perhaps new JD's are a bit 'sticky'?

The difference between those idle speeds won't make a difference in changing the range gears. What helps with the sticky gears is a very slight rocking between forward and reverse pedals.

Or you can just rock yourself back and forth in the seat a little and it'll go into gear.
