This weekend we lost all steering on our 110 tlb, bad part about it was we were over a ditch. Has anyone else encountered this problem and what was the fix? The machine has less than 150 hours on it and had no other problems until this.

What exactly failed on your steering, I have had a load of problems all over mostly hydraulic things. The only steering issue I have had is the hose was put in the wrong place and is wearing everytime the axle pivots.

Not sure exactly what failed I think it was the hydro steering pump. The machine was just picked up today so hopefully we will know in a couple of days. What problems did you encounter?

First my hyd pump on the left side started leaking and my front axle started leaking within 20 hours every seal on the front axle was bad then another pump leak too many blown hoses to recall all failed. Oil pan gasket leaks electrical issue wouldn't start more hoses now my teeth won't stay on the backhoe bucket pin on bucket not qk. con. Deere isn't willing to help on the bucket either tthey say it is LD and the qk con is HD. NO where does it ever say this anywhere. Many, many problems so far. IM me if you have more questions. I would like to know if yours is any way different than mine.

Do you by any chance have the thumb for the hoe? I am wanting to build one and need some dimensions off it.

Sorry we don't have a thumb. We use the quick detach buckets for the backhoe.

We heard from JD today and it appears that the steering cylinder failed. They said it looked like something inside of it came apart.

I have not had any problems with cylinders themselves but only hoses. It seems a hose will blow anytime I really need the machine to work all day. If you look at all the hoses they range from 3000 to 5000 they all need to be at least 3500 or 4000 double wire for them to last any length of time. I wish I could have been on of the consumers that they spoke with to get design ideas with but I will just have to keep yellin to the higher up people and maybe they will change something. Oh on my 24 in bucket they said the pin on light duty. I have checked everywhere for something that says there is a difference between the pin on and qk attach I found they both say heavy duty pin on or heavy duty quick attach. Isn't that a bunch of bull. The guy that is arguing with me doesn't know anything about these machines he's going on second hand info from a salesman. I don't know. It would be simple if they got the buckets from the same manufacturer and used the same teeth.

I had one hose blow right before the connector on the steering cylinder and one just exploded mid run on the dump/rollback hose on the loader. Bad parts they claim.

I've also had the steering cylinder plunger arm bend twice. Have any of you had any issues with yours? The funny thing was it wasn't even under load, just steering with an empty bucket. The part appears to be under-engineered to me at only a half-inch for such a heavy machine.

I have had no cylinder problems yet only hoses and gaskets mostly but they shut you down for a while. What backhoe bucket do you have the Qk or pin on.

I believe it is the 16" Qk although I have never taken it off so not sure just how quick it really is. And yes, it took them a few weeks each time to get the part as no one stocks it. Luckily they were both in the first year of warranty, but now I'm worried it could happen again and be a big out of pocket setback.

What do you use both the 4710 and 110 for?

Actually I sold the 4710 I have my own little side business that I use they tractors for along with their use at my house and our farm. The 110 is great all around but could really use a few more ponies under the hood. Do you have the belly plate for your machine?

I agree that it needs more power (maybe the next gen will get the new turbo engine from the new 4X20 series), but it has done a pretty good all-around job.

Yes, I have the underbelly plating as our area has lots of little saplings & pricker bushes that could get up in there and reek havoc when driving over them to brushhog.

That skid plate is the absolute best investment 525 dollars can get you. In order for them to get the new engines in they are going to have to some serious redesigning work. That is why it doesn't have the bigger 4710 engine and they went with the 4610 smaller block more room for pumps and whatever also that is why the battery is not under the hood plus it help with visibility. What problems have you experienced with your machine.

Just the steering cylinder and hoses I mentioned above so far.
