ANyone had any experience with the 1050 model? If so what is your take on this tractor,thanks again-Lloyd

Great machine! Ours is a 86-87 model (I forget) and we've got about 1000 hrs on it. Engine and and trans have been trouble free... It lacks a few "luxury" items compared to say, a newer 4000 series, but it's a very solid tractor.
The only down I've found is a minor one, the brakes don't wear long (maybe 300-400 hrs.) and are $45 a shoe. The upside is they are pretty easy to replace. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

When I was looking at tractors I'd pretty much decided a 1050 would be a great way for me to go. I'd done a lot of research and talked to people who owned them and people who worked on them and the responses were the same. It's a good, solid tractor reliable to the point of being bulletproof. I found no one with a bad thing to say about them, including my local Kubota and New Hollad dealers. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I ended up buying something different based on it being a great deal for what it was, but still sometimes wish I'd bought a 1050 instead. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I have the jd 75 loader and it is a little slow compared to a backhoe or skid steer. the hyd pump is only about 9-10 gpm. The bale question depends on the size bale. The loader capacity is 900lbs. if I remember. I think it would pick up a 4ft wide bale ok, not a 6ft "full size" bale.
