Hello all. Will be purchasing a 1025r soon. I have seen some in Australia equipped with 4 in 1 buckets, so I did some research about weather or not it is practical. Seems like a great attachment to me. I understand that you lose some lifting capacity, but that may be acceptable. This is what I've found so far,

Artillian makes a 3rd function kit for the 1025r it retails for between $670 and $690.00.

Wr Long makes a 4 in 1 bucket with a JDQA setup in 54 and 60 inch widths.

The 54 inch weighs 255lbs, and the 60" weighs 340lbs and retails for $1845.00

So the setup total cost comes in around $2500.00

So my question is, Is it worth It?? I don't really need a grapple per say. Any opinions would be welcome.

Thank You, George.

One thing to keep in mind. Does the 4 in 1 buckets weight hurt your lift capacity for the jobs you wanting to do?
If the weight is not a problem and you have no need for a normal grapple as you have stated then I would think a 4 in 1 would be great to have. Will handle the smaller occasional job just fine. Sure is nice to pick up the last bit of sand in a pile that is to small to scoop up. Picks up the trash, rocks, roots, log, post, or whatever that needs moving.
I put removable teeth on mine. This allows me to dig much better. Also allows me to carefully use the toothed bucket as a back rake. Since its a 4 in 1 I can open the bucket and use its smooth lip as needed with the teeth up and out of the way for most things. Handy when loading dirt out of a trailor for instance. The teeth keeps the bottom of the bucket up a bit and leaves dirt. The 4 in 1 means I do not have to stop and remove the teeth.
I have a grapple and its nice but to have to pick one tool to use all of the time a 4 in 1 is hard to beat.
Personally I think mine has been worth more than I paid for it.
Later on I put in a valve in the lines going to the FEL grapple hydraulics. The valve has a line going to the back of the tractor now also. By flipping the valve I can have the FEL 4 in 1 hydraulics or have the extra hydraulic coupling in back. More use for the money.

Thanks for the reply. It seems they are not the most popular attachment , I assume due to the weight penalty.

Don't know about the 4 in 1 bucket, but have you used the 1025's FEL? Mine was very quirky. No way I'd ever trust it to load stuff into my pickup.

However, the FEL on the 2025R is absolutely goof proof. Best I've ever had.
