Hi, I have a 2013 J2030H with 348hrs, that has been trouble free until recently. I went to use it and it didn't have power.. long story short turned out to be a bad connection on the positive terminal . Starts up and idles perfectly : when I remove the parking brake or hit forward/reverse on the HST is dies! okay must be the seat switch right?! NOPE: bypassed the seat switch and tested the wires: fully voltage going through the wires, problem still persists!

Now I don't have a J2030H Service manual, because you can't find them, but I have the Boomer 25 manual. I thoroughly study all diagrams and circuits, then systematically test every safety switch: all functioning correctly. Test PTO switch: checks out perfect. All fuses correct. No matter what, when I remove the brake or hit the HST pedal it dies! So I need to test the safety controller to to confirm that it's getting voltage from the seat switch... but I can't find it! Dash it out, tracing wires, taking this tractor apart and I can't find the damn thing for the past few days!!!! Looking at the Boomer 25 manual, it's behind the console cover to the right, but nothing is there on mine.. I'm to the point where I'm about to run and ON/OFF switch to my fuel solenoid to bypass all this crap. Anyone got any ideas of what I'm over looking here?? Anyone have a J2030H service manual so we can compare wiring diagrams?

Well called the local LS dealer today and told them my issues, and that I'm using a Boomer 25 manual.. they said that there is no "safety controller" present on the J2030H and were kind enough to email me PDF of the LS factory service manuals so I could look at the wiring diagrams: J2030h is similar but uses a Safety Relay instead of a Safety controller, which is the big relay with 8 wires behind the console cover.

Looking at my issues (not seeing the seat safety switch having operator present even with switch bypassed), I determined that the safety timer that terminal 33 from the seat switch goes to on the dash into 33 - has a malfunction. So I can combine terminal 33 (green/blue wire) with 27 (green/yellow wire) coming from the safety timer in instrument panel , and this will send the needed 12v to the safety relay ALWAYS showing operator present. The safety start system will still be in place!

Below is the factory LS J2030H wiring diagram illustrating my above solution:

On my zero turn mower a few years back, one of the wires for the safety switch simply broke. Was able to locate the break visually (luckily) and just splice it.

I mention this just in case that is what is causing your issue - check all the wiring first.
