Does anyone know if you should put transmission/hydraulic fluid or 80/90 wt gear oil in the transmission reservoir for this tractor?

Ed I would say Hydraulic fluid if its close to the Models I,ve have , & 1 was a 2202 that I traded off . the only thing i,m aware of that takes gear oil is the Front Differential on the 4 wheel drives . Hopefully someone that has that Particular model will say for sure . Bob

Ed, on your older TS tractor, like my TS1610F, the tranny and hydraulic reservoirs are separate and don't take the same fluid like Bob's newer model does.

On the transmission oil, you don't use hydraulic fluid, use the tractor transmission oil they sell at Wal-Mart (or?) in the 5 or 10 gallon containers that conforms to the JD 303(?) spec, it''ll say on the back panel. The hydraulic reservoir, separate from the tranny case, uses a standard hydraulic fluid (for mobile equip.?). Hope this helps.
