Just got the new CK 27 HST delivered this afternoon. Hope to be able to post some photos for you all. This is my First adventure concerning the HST. It has a 3 speed HST and the first thing I did was to put it into H to see what it could do. On the level it started to move  then I tried going up an small incline it started up a bit but then the Tractor came to a complete stop :(. with engine running satisfactorily.

So now I depressed the clutch and selected M that got me up the grade and when I got it upon the flat I selected H. On the level now it seems to be able to move the tractor. If I tried to back up or drive up incline in H from start it doesn't have it. confused:

Is this normal and what I can expect, or is it just me expecting too much.. Would appreciate your candid input into this if you will? Thank you very much!

Are you running the tractor at a high enough RPM? Seems like 1800 to 2000 works best on most of them to keep enough pressure with the HST pumps. Can you hear any noises when it stops moving?

Depending on the hill and the RPM's you had the engine at, it may be normal. High gear is really just for flat travel and not for much work or hill climbing. Also, since the tractor is still new it will be slightly underpowered until it really breaks in. This is normal for any new engine and not just the Kioti diesel. I noticed High gear to be much more useful after 50-100 hours of use and can even use it to snow blow the light stuff.

Does the tractor just have a loader on it or do you have a backhoe too? Are the tires loaded? All this extra weight will make the High gear tougher as well.

Was it cold? Did you let it warm up?

I don't have a Kioti but.... I live on a big hill and I never take the tractor out of low range. In the manual it says high range is a transport only gear. And they mean transport on level ground only gear.

I normally let my CK35 HST warm up for a few minutes. Usually run it in medium range at no less than 2000 RPM but most of the time around 2200 RPM. Find if I am driving it in high, on our flat gravel road, it bounces too much for my liking so have done that only a couple of times.

Sounds normal, both of the Kubotas I have act the same.

My CK30hst doesn't like high range unless the engine is over 2,000rpm. It will go up mild inclines in high range without a bh and no other load. The main thing is don't press the pedal down to fast. It's kind of like starting a standard trans vehicle in high gear. Take several seconds to push the full pedal travel as the tractor picks up speed.

I hoping to attach a few photos of the tractor & area that I will use it in. After reading the posts I had it out a bit more today to see if I could learn anything. The information that was provided gave me a better understanding now of what I can expect.

Really appreciated the feedback & input you Guys were willing to take the time to post. By your stories you gave me a better idea of what I should know. It also helps me to get to know a little more about each one of you & your equipment. Your suggestions were just what the doctor would order. Hope that it will work both ways.

photo 1 - These deer have seen kiotis before.
photo 2 - Pit Yorkie guarding the New front end plow/blade
photo 3 - New loaded down CK 27 HST Tractor on incline - H range did not work here - No noises about 1800 to 2000 rpms
photo 4 - Not able to get up to the wood today :)

Thank you! KKioti
