It has a plywood floor. I'm really hoping 82" will be okay. Maybe the D-Series will be less high.

The dealer inferred that this is a well kept secret. He also said the C-Series is scarce because of recent large lot purchases by the government.

I have had more than my share of problems with the
Toolcats but Bobcat has fixed all of them and stood behind their work with a three year guarantee. I have a 120 acre horse farm which has hills, deep holes and some difficult terrain that has to be maintained. I have over 7000 trees in rows which I maintain with the 72" mower and CRP land which I mow with the Brushcat. I used it to clear and restore a 40 acre gravel pit full of Locust and Osage Orange trees, and rocks. It also maintains 12 acres of rough, hilly pasture. The Brushcat can take down trees with 3" trunks. I also have the 75 gallon sprayer with the boom and it is convenient to be able to spray and mow at the same time. The pallet fork is handy for loading hay and bags of chips, and the bucket is great for moving manure. I also have a rake/drag that attaches to the rear for maintaining the lane surface and the sand in the indoor arena. I live back a long lane and the bucket went through 18 " of snow last winter and theToolcat didn't get stuck one time. I have a large wetland/native grass area which I mow and did get stuck when I got too close to the water. The all wheel drive got me right out. I have mowed in the rain and had no problems. I have owned several tractors etc. over the past 20 years and have never owned one piece of equipment that could perform all of these tasks so easily!!! My wife and I often work together and our guests love getting a farm tour in the Toolcat. I have the Turbo 5600 C and have no regrets, especially when I can turn on the AC in summer and the heat in winter! The fuel economy is pretty good, too. fresh2ob

Not to belabor the point, but can you cut away the floor at the door and build a ramp up into the shed? A little drastic, but I think not too difficult. Maybe cut the 2 bys that support the floor (if that is how it is done) down and lay the floor on them. You cut parallel other boards with the 2 bys to bring the strength back.

Thanks for your ideas, you sound like one of those people who see possibilities. If the changing the door height will not work I will keep your suggestion in mind. Your idea is interesting since it is the door frame only that is the problem.

I dig the pines out with a regular bucket. They are shallow rooted and easy to dig, but I'm wondering if the toolcat loader hydraulics and front end are capable of lifting a 4 to 6 inch pine. Before I set up a demo I try to do as much homework as I can.

It is encouraging to hear that the toolcat can replace an 86hp tractor. I like the concept and willing to be clever in handling various applications, but it needs to be stronger than am and reliable. Most commercial tractors would last for decades without a bit of trouble when driven by a single operator on a farm or estate. My old Ford 4000 has about 40hp and it can still idle up a 30 degree grade with a 6 foot finish mower attached.

I have an 06' C series with 380hrs. that I ran like a dog the first year. My thinking was, if there is a weak link I want to find within the one year warr.period...Nothing failed! This summer I used it while installing over a mile of sidewalks in our subdivision. As the backhoe dumped the dirt in the street I picked up the dirt with an oversized 66" bucket and moved the dirt 3/4 of a mile at full throttle, (18.2mph) with no balast. The bucket weighs 515lbs. and the heaping load of dirt approx. 1500lbs. I made approx. (40) round trips per day for 2 weeks, (or approx. 60miles a day) in 100 degree weather but I remained cool all day while listening to talk radio all day.
The concrete workers were laughing and pointing when I arrived. Once I put the machine in 4 wheel steer and began to work the smiles quickly disapeared. I told the board I'd move the dirt for half of the $28,000.00 quote. The contractor Skid Steer set off to the side for 2 weeks collecting my dust. When we talk about our problems among the family, I assure you we still think the Toolcat is one of the finest and unique American Made products since the first Skid Steer was introduced.

I've had an '06 rev. C. with 225 hours coming up on one year. Bought ToolCat with estate maintenance on my 35 acres in mind, but in the first year there's been more construction than I anticipated, moving tons of materials with combo bucket, Anbo grapple, dump hopper, trencher, working very productively here alongside friends with excavator, bulldozer, etc. Also spent many hours with stump grinder, boom arm flail mower, hydraulic log splitter, brush & finish mowers, etc.; superb Bobcat mobile maintenance/repair service comes to me, etc. The accumulating Bobcat tools are causing me to plan an addition onto my shop building as we speak. Love the air conditioned/heated cab w/ sound system, turf friendly four wheel steering, hydraulic dump bed, having a fork lift on the property. The four wheel steering lets me move my boat and utility trailers around very efficiently. All in all, a truly creative, versatile platform-- a reliable work machine and estate vehicle in one. Unexpected bonus aspect: after long productive work day, park ToolCat on farflung corner, lower tailgate and sit on the bed with a cold one & enjoy the sunset. Sheesh. Can't wait for next Spring!
