Is the BX25 large enough?

Yeah, u know when you kinda have a gut feeling about something, but your brain and common sense tells better, thats the way Ive thought about the BX!

Yeah, it goes both ways though. I had convinced myself one time that a B was the ideal tractor for me. I researched them for months during the winter months and after crawling all over them, I learned the BX was the right one for me.

I do, however have other tractors and if I hadn't, I would have gone with the B.

Should have no problem reaching over the sides of the dump trailer.
1*I've used my 2350 to load a one ton dump truck.
As for the hoe, the bota will out dig that case any day!!!! Jk
1*I've been thinking about getting a 1 ton dump truck
but was concerned about being able load it with my BX23.

TripleR, Thats something to think about also, since I have access to larger tractors, I thought the BX would be good to have around for the smaller jobs you cant do with larger equipment. Digging water lines around houses, working a garden, four wheeler trail maintence, well you get the picture, it goes on an on! Lutt

That was one of my concerns with the dump trailer. When I get home, I am gonna have to put a tape on it. But I think the farms dump trailer will be roughly 4' tall over the side. That would be from the ground to top of the side. I belive it has 3' sides. Lutt

That is why I bought a second BX as it is a very capable machine in a small package. If I need more capability, I grab a different tractor.

I honestly think we all need at least 3 tractors around.

It's the Goldilocks syndrome.

OK, not going to happen, thus I have a B. :D

I have a BX23 and a 1-ton Ford F350 dump truck. The BX will just barely lift the FEL high enough to clear the sides with the wooden extensions removed. It will do it, but you have to be on level ground and careful. That said, I can get 8 or 10 buckets per truckload, which is real nice for doing driveway work.

To the OP - I have 13 acres and would like a slightly larger tractor. If your Case is available most of the time maybe the BX would be fine but I'd certainly test a few out to make sure it's the right fit for your needs.

I've got my 3 so I must be done.

I was thinking of going with a flat bed with removable sides.
Do you think that would help with the clearance?

Ah, but all of our tractors are "just right".

We have tried the one tractor route more than once and it doesn't work for us. You are a lucky man indeed.

OK, OK, we might be able to do without one of our tractors, well maybe two, but that's it; I'm pretty sure anyway...:(

I've got 3 if you count the garden tractor... use the BX23 at least times more than the others together...

Ill probly will wind up with another tractor along the way between now and retirement anyways. But Im still gonna give this quite a bit more thought, you guys have brought up some very good points, expierance goes a long way in these matters. Thanks. Lutt

Lutt, Although my BX23 is the right machine for my ponderosa & purposes, you're intended uses and lay-of-the-land dictates at least a B series. I wouldn't consider anything under a B2620 and would look hard at the B2630 and/or B3030.
Course thats putting you in a much higher $$$ category and if $$$'s are the main consderation, the B2620 would be as small as I'd go, new.
W/the B2620 you get the suspended MMM like the BX but more all around power, higher FEL lift and load, more 3ph lift & load and much higher ground clearances for when you're in the woods.
The BX's have an HST cooling fan thats in harms way when they are operated in debris strewn areas and that fan is expensive and labor consuming to replace. A skidplate pretty much mitigates that problem but you still have the lower ground clearance issue.
The B series on the other hand uses the std automotive type HST heat exchanger mounted in front of the radiator and has double the ground clearance. No HST fan to damage by wayward branches :D

I really like my BX23. It's a great little tractor that does most all of what I need it to do. But I only have alittle over 4 acres and I've tamed the land to where my main task is keeping it finished mowed. I tamed it w/a much bigger tractor btw.
Good luck
Dave

Thanks for the info Dave. Your in the same league as the others as on the B, I am gonna look at the B and L's when I get home from work in Feb. I have been cleaning up my personal property with a backhoe. So the woods wont be much of a issue. Well woods are always a issue, I have been cleaning up the brush and saplings and leaving the good timber. Far as the other places go it is just a matter of property maintence, spreading gravel and a little bushogging. Yeah money is always a issue, I dont want to spend it though and get it home and be disappointed. Thanks Lutt

By the way Dave, the cooling fan issue would def. have to be addressed if I got the BX. Also coukd you give me some information of your altenator welder, Ive been thinking about putting one on my old jeep tj. I think it would be really handy. Thanks. Lutt
