Is NH 7740 incompatible w/ JD HX15 batwing?

Hi. My NH7740 continually snaps off its PTO shaft pulling the JD HX15 batwing.

I suspect your batwing probably has a drive shaft with a CV joint that's out of balance.

Are you buying OEM replacements or aftermarket?

WOW! JD repaired the drive shaft and the collar (is that the CV joint?). The replacement half of the shaft was too big to slide in the original outer half. This is over my head. What specifically should I ask them to do?

I don’t know. Local John Deere repaired it, and they are under new management. Should I ask them?

Is the PTO shaft the right length? If the shaft bottoms out going through a dip, I've seen it break the PTO shaft on the tractor.

I barely started the thing. It was on a level road. Edged over to mow parkway beside (and level with) the road. PTO shaft was level from tractor to implement. When I got out to see why the pto was on but it was not cutting grass, I saw the PTO stub had shorn off at the tractor ��. We had only traveled 40’.

The yoke is missing 2 snap rings - though the pin does not appear to have slipped any. Could this have caused it?

Done that too - bottomed out going through a dip. Later learned you’re only supposed operate in float position.
